Lois was a founding partner in this firm in 1985. She is a 1977 graduate of East Tennessee State University (B.S., Social Sciences Area Concentration), and a 1980 graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Law. She is licensed to practice in all Tennessee state courts, as well as the Eastern District Federal Court. She was listed as a Rule 31 Civil and Family Mediator for more than 20 years. She serves as the Town Attorney for the Town of Unicoi, Tennessee.

Doug joined the law firm in 1986. He is a 1981 graduate of East Tennessee State University (B.S., Business Administration). Doug graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Law with High Honors in 1983. While in law school, he received the American Jurisprudence award in several subjects and was inducted in the Order of the Coif, an honor society for law students ranked in the top ten percent of the class. He is licensed in all Tennessee state courts, as well as the Eastern District Federal Court. Doug serves as the County Attorney for Unicoi County, Tennessee. Doug is a Title Insurance Agent and brings decades of real estate experience to the closing table.
His practice areas include: Real Estate, Estate Planning and Probate, and Civil Litigation.
Sarah joined the firm in 2006. She graduated with Highest Honors from the University of Tennessee in 1985 (B.S., Political Science and English). Sarah graduated with Honors from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 1988. She formerly served as an Assistant United States Attorney. She is licensed to practice in all Tennessee state courts, as well as the Eastern District Federal Court. She serves as the Municipal Judge for the Town of Erwin, Tennesse.
Her areas of practice include: Domestic Law, Civil Litigation, Family Law, Juvenile Law, Adoptions, and various Real Estate matters.
Joe joined the firm in 2017. He graduated from ETSU with his undergraduate and then continued with the Shults legacy and graduated from Appalachian School of Law in 2013. He formerly worked in the District Attorney General's Office as an Assistant DA in the Criminal Division with the First Judicial District for 4 years. His areas of practice include: Criminal, Family Law and General Practitioner.
Tracie Metcalf joined the firm in 2017. Prior to joining the firm, Tracie was a Staffing Manager with AtWork Personnel Services from December 2011 to July 2017. She was appointed, then elected as the Unicoi County Circuit Court Clerk from June 2007 to August 2010. Tracie worked with the Washington County Circuit Court Clerk’s Office as a Deputy Clerk from August 2005 to December 2007 in both General Sessions Court and Criminal Court. She worked with the District Attorney General’s Office –Criminal Division as a Legal Assistant from December 2000 to July 2005 and with the District Attorney General’s Office – Child Support Division as a Specialist II from August 1999 to November 2000. Tracie worked with Roger Day, Attorney, as a Legal Secretary from June 1998 to August 1999. She worked with Sherwood & Pate, Attorneys at Law, as a Legal Secretary from March 1992 to May 1998. Tracie serves the firm by performing paralegal duties and essential office operations, as well as assisting with various real estate matters.

Ashley joined the firm in 2017. She graduated in 2016 from ETSU, with a degree in Marketing. She is responsible for Real Estate tasks including Title Search, Title Insurance preparation, and other various real estate matters.
